The diet and exercise routines have really become a part of my everyday lifestyle. I've noticed a big difference in the amount of food that I can actually eat in one sitting. I remember being able to eat whatever was given to me, but now I find myself sending plates of food back with the waiter whenever I go out to eat. Since it's summer, it's been easier to exercise every day as I have had lots of free time. I'm trying to set smaller weight goals for every week as I feel like I am hitting a plateau with my weight. However, it could be because I've eased up a bit on the diet as I've been eating out more, but I do try to stick with low-fat meals. I did indulge the other day and I felt SO sick. I ate breakfast at Denny's that included bacon, sausage links, pancakes, scrambled eggs, etc. Of course I couldn't finish all of it, but I just felt like I was dumping lard directly into my veins. I felt SO heavy after that. Three days later and I am just now feeling like it's been cleansed from my system. I used to eat crap like that just about every day. No wonder I weighed so much! I am down to 197 pounds, which is great, but of course I still want to lose about 7 more pounds to feel like I've really accomplished my goal. I know that I won't be able to revert all the way back on my diet, so I am not too worried about that. I think about how nice it would be to not think about fat grams, but I think I've done it for so long, it's hard NOT to think about it. I have gotten pretty good at just knowing the fat gram content of lots of different foods. My elliptical machine keeps track of calories burned and when I first started my exercise routine, I was able to burn about 220 calories. Right now, I am burning 400 calories every workout, which I think has really helped. My target weight loss for next Friday is 3 pounds. If I can get below 195 next week, I think it will really motivate me to get the rest.

The diet and work out appear to be working. I've dropped 22lbs and counting. I am currently at 210 and with a little more work, I'll be down in the single-digits sometime next week. I may even be under 200 by the end of school, which is something I never expected. I've even gotten some compliments about the weight loss which I really do appreciate. I didn't think that my weight loss was very noticeable, but I've had people tell me my face is looking a lot slimmer, which again, is nice. Thanks KF!!!

I bought an ab workout machine today. I have a hard time doing crunches and would like to work on my midsection a little bit. I only did it for about 8-10mins, but I could definitely feel some burn in my abs, obliques, and even my arms and upper body. I am going to construct a workout plan involving the elliptical, KF Home Fat Burn, and ab machine. I have currently "plateaued" at 215 pounds. I am trying to add some variety to my workout and continue with the Slim Fast diet to lose the remaining 20-25 pounds that I would like to lose. I'm in no hurry, although instead of losing all of this by August, I would like to lose it by sometime in July. I think it can definitely be done if I continue to work hard and not get discouraged by this weight plateau. I have learned a lot about myself since April 2. I have learned that I have a lot more will power than I ever thought and I really feel good about that and the fact that my body is getting into shape after about 10 years of sliding off into the fatness oblivion. I still am not concerned about having a six pack or getting ripped, but I would like to lose some weight around my belly. I hope the ab training helps with that.

Since being weighed in at 232lbs on April 2, I currently weigh 216lbs. I've lost 16 pounds in less than three weeks. A lot of people have asked me how I've done it. Here's the secret:

#1 - BE COMMITTED. You have to want this for yourself. Weak minded people can't do anything; only the strong survive.

#2 - Give up pop. Drink MOSTLY water. Only drink orange juice or milk if you need fruit or dairy servings in your diet. Giving up the pop isn't as hard as you might think.

#3 - Watch your fat gram intake. There are SO MANY good foods out there that don't have a lot of fat. Most restaurants, even fast food joints, have low-fat menu items. Eat those instead of the greasy, drippy, cheese-coated high-fat foods.

#4 - Snack three times a day on healthy food. Eating more doesn't sound like a good way to lose weight, but it is as long as it's good for you. It also makes you less hungry around meal time, so you will probably eat smaller portions then.

#5 - Exercise. I know, I know. It sucks. Believe me. The workouts on Kustom Fitness are awesome because they don't take a lot of time. It's not the time length of the workout, it's the quality of the exercise. Take a look at the home fat burning guide. Don't get discouraged if you can't do everything... just try for as long as the time length says. Also, work on cardio. I bought an elliptical and run on it for about 25mins a day. Listen to music when you work out. It really does help.

Even at 216, my ideal weight is under 200 pounds. I am working towards that now with a little help from Slim Fast. People tell me that my suggestions won't work for them, but I wonder how they know. Just try it. Kustomize your body at KustomFitness.com!

I started an exercise routine last night. On Thursday evening, I purchased an elliptical machine and spent most of the night trying to put it together. I think that was a workout all on its own. I spent 10 minutes on the elliptical, which I know doesn't sound like much, but I didn't want to overkill since it was my first time. My legs felt pretty shaky and my heart rate was up there by the time I got off the machine, so I think there were some benefits. I'm going to try to use it once a day and keep adding more time every time I use it. Any idea what would be an ideal time to maximize the cardiovascular and weight loss benefits?

I was also very proud of myself yesterday as I went to the movies for the first time since I started my diet. I didn't eat any popcorn or drink any soda. It was pretty tough, but I did it!
